General Class Information
Classes operate from a purpose built furniture-making workshop, with separate centrally cooled and heated workbench room. All students have access to a full range of high quality hand tools and each student uses a custom-made cabinetmakers bench. The machine area is equipped with a range of well-maintained, professional standard machinery.
All materials and consumables are provided, along with specific safety gear (P.P.E.).
A good solid workbench is an essential part of any woodworking workshop. It needs to provide a sturdy work surface that is flat, heavy and durable. It also needs work holding options in the form of a vice and the ability to clamp work to its surface. Our hybrid Roubo design with its large section legs, rails, sliding deadman and solid one-piece top offers all of this.
We are now offering the course over 10 weeks, 1 day a week, on Wednesday only. Class hours would be between 9.30am and 2.30pm. This course involves a fair amount of heavy, large section timber and some serious glue ups. As a result, we are offering places in the course to people with some prior woodworking experience as a preference.
This course is limited to 3 students to enable maximum one on one time with your instructor.
