Open Workshops - a more immersive experience
Are you wanting to develop your woodworking skills? Do you have some experience in woodworking but lack access to quality equipment? Or, do you need guidance to further develop your ideas and projects? If so, our open workshop classes may be what you are looking for.
Open Workshops is a class we offer to people who want to begin designing and making their own work or to focus on developing specific techniques. The classes are purchased in 10 week blocks and you can work on your own projects or if needed we can provide set projects to suit your level of experience.
Classes are limited to 4 students to enable maximum one on one time with your instructor.
NOTE - The workshop, equipment and environment is not set up for children. Therefore, the minimum age to participate in a course is 18 years old.
Open Workshop classes are 5 hours, once a week over a 10 consecutive week period and generally run in line with school terms (SA).
Term 1 commences w/c 28th January 2020
Term 2 commences w/c 27th April 2020 - Cancelled Covid-19
Term 3 commences w/c 20th July 2020 - Full
Term 4 commences w/c 12th October 2020 - Full
Classes operate on a Monday between the hours of 9.30 am and 2.30 pm.

General Class Information
Classes operate from a purpose built furniture-making workshop, with separate centrally cooled and heated workbench room. All students have access to a full range of high quality hand tools and each student uses a custom-made cabinetmakers bench. The machine area is equipped with a range of well-maintained, professional standard machinery.
Tea and coffee facilities are available and students are asked only to bring a great attitude and a willingness to learn.
Note: Enclosed shoes, preferably leather, are necessary.
